RADIO IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC
In February, Adventist World Radio conducted an intensive radio training program in Solomon Islands and Western Samoa. Representatives from six Pacific island nations attended the training session, enabling them to produce and develop new content for their local radio stations.
Solomon Islands have commenced a live broadcast reaching large parts of Honiara, the nation’s capital, allowing the three angels’ messages to be heard in places where a regular Christian presence has been difficult. Samoa, Vanuatu and Kiribati are currently in the process of applying for FM licenses and launching their own radio stations.
Fiji
Hope FM commenced broadcasting in Fiji a number of years ago and now plays a significant role in Jesus’ commission to make new disciples. Now the number one Christian radio station in the country, Hope FM is an influential tool to reach across the waters, through cultural divides, to disciple a nation.
