Hope Sabbath School

The law given to Moses when well beyond the Ten Commandments. This week we will look at why this was necessary and the way that Jesus challenged us to go beyond the letter of the law.
In this lesson we will delve into the significance of Sinai, and the preparations necessary for meeting the Lord there. We will also explore God's dramatic appearance, and the gift of the Ten Commandments.
This week we will explore how God provided for his people in the desert--water from a rock, and bread from heaven. And yet, they still complained. How do these miracles point to Jesus? What important advice did Moses get from his father-in-law?
Did Pharaoh repent or simply regret his choices? How did the Lord demonstrate to Israel that things impossible for us are possible with God? This lesson will answer these questions and look at how we can stand in faith in spite of impossible odds.
This lesson will look closely at the final plague, and the detailed instructions that God gave Israel for the Passover. What can we learn from Israel's experience and the judgment of Egypt?
This week's lesson will explore the link between the plagues and the false gods of Egypt. We will also answer the question, "Who hardened Pharaoh's heart?"
We know that Satan stands in opposition to God's plans. How did Pharaoh allow himself to be used as the Devil's instrument? What was God's response to the oppression? What assurance did God offer Israel of deliverance? What does he offer us?
What was the Lord's goal with the supernatural encounter in the desert? What does this story reveal about God's character and the name "I AM"? This week's lesson will also address the excuses that we, like Moses, often use fo avoid God's plans to deliver us.
As we begin a new quarter studying stories of deliverance in the book of Exodus, we will start by reviewing how the children of Israel came to be in Egypt. We will also take a closer look at Moses's family and Pharaoh’s household.
